MuPAD Pro 4 provides a new uniform user interface for all supported operating systems: Windows, MacOS X and Linux. MuPAD Pro 4 bietet eine einheitliche Benutzungsoberfläche für alle unterstützten Betriebssysteme: Windows, MacOS X und Linux.

The new notebook file format is platform independent and more flexible then that of version 3 and offers more formatting features, e.g., frames, tables, word wrap, html- and pdf-export,... MuPAD Pro 4 notebooks with graphics included are much smaller than correpsonding notebooks of MuPAD Pro 3 for Windows because they are realized as zip archives containing XML documents. Old MuPAD Pro 3 for Windows notebooks can be imported. Das neue Notebook-Dateiformat ist plattformunabhängig und flexibler als das der Version 3 und bietet mehr Formatierungsmöglichkeiten, so beispielsweise Rahmen, Tabellen, Wortumbruch, Html- und PDF-Export,... For consistency across platforms, the program called mupad is now the graphical user interface and the terminal version/the kernel is called mupkern. Konsistent auf allen Plattformen heißt die Programmdatei der graphische Benutzungsoberfläche nun mupad und die Programmdatei der Terminalversion/des Kernels mupkern.

In the mathematical part, there have been fixes and many changes as well. We do not try here to give an exhaustive list naming every new overloading implemented, but attempt to be complete in terms of new functionality.
